There are several miles of scenic hiking trails in Raven Rock State Park. The Campbell Creek Loop trail, a five-mile loop, leads from the parking area to Campbell Creek and follows the creek to the Cape Fear River. Along the river, the short Lanier Falls Trail leads to the namesake falls. Although it's more of a rapids than a falls, it's a very pretty spot, and in warmer months, hikers can cool off in the water. The Raven Rock Loop Trail leads to Raven Rock a giant rock along the Cape Fear River. A wooden staircase leads down to base of the rock and is a great place to relax, take photos, or have a picnic. Splitting off from the Raven Rock Loop Trail is the Fish Traps trail, which leads to the Fish Traps. These are a rocky surface jutting out of the water with many small pools that fish can become trapped in. It's fairly easy to climb out to the rocks and this is another great place to relax and have lunch.
