Poney Island Restaurant, North Carolina
Small and well established, just what one looks for in a downhome restruant. Big baskets of hushpuppies and pitchers of ice-tea, both compliment meal. Great service, great prices and friendly folkes, some things just don't change and thank goodness The Poney Island Restaurant hasn't. Old country interior, well spaced tables, great lighting and a wonderful staff, like a fish camp restraunt should be.
Favorite Dish: Catch of the day is just that, catch of the day, broiled, baked or fried, crab cakes in many ways, like mine between the buns w/lettuce, tomato, onion and tarter sauce. The spinich lasaugana was tastey to say the least, nothing fancey or on the cutting edge here, the food is prepared fresh, presented well and the service does the rest. No sticker shock when payin the tab.
