on the wilmington VT site are a number of tips on orton plantation. this historic site has recently been sold and is no longer open to the public. the park ranger at fort anderson told me that there are no plans to reopen the site to the public in the near future. near the orton plantation is fort anderson which is worth the 18 mile side trip from downtown wilmington.
