by BeverlyTyler Wilmington, Nc is just south of Wrightsville Beach. From Route 132, take route 74 east (Eastwood Road) onto Harbor Island, then Route 76 onto Wrightsville Beach. (74 also goes to Wrightsville Beach, a bit further north - Wrightsville Beach runs north/South). PHOTO: UNDER JONNIE MERCER'S PIER ALONG WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH. If you stay near to where Route 76 intersects Lumina Ave. on Wrightsville Beach you can walk to the village area for groceries and a few excellent restaurants. If you have a car or bicycle be sure to explore Wrightsville Beach from one end to the other. Theme: Motorcycle

There is so much beautiful scenery within the one mile strip of Wrightsville beach (both on the ocean and the harbor sides) that you can spend several hours and lots of film taking it all in (I know we did). for those too lazy to walk or bike, you an look at the beach camera: http://www.wrightsville.com/bchcam.htm Directions: I-95 to I-40, east all the way to Wilmington, NC. I-40 becomes US117, go southeast to US74, go east on US74 through Wrightsville and across the bridge to WrightsVille BeachWebsite: www.wrightsville.com

website logo by davecallahan Wasn't too enthused with this. I should have read the brochures before going. It was basically an old cottage that someone said "hey let's fill it with beach trivia and call it a museum". And they did. I guess if you are into that life style, then seeing a half-dozen rooms of someones old furniture and some beach umbrellas and a model of a beach-front hotel is right up your alley. Just goes to show that you can get nothing for nothing. And you can leave a donation if you want too! Address: 303 West Salisbury StreetDirections: take US74/76 east over the bridge to Harbor Island then go north on Wes Salisbury Street and look for the sign.Website: www.wbmuseum.com

by erictilley If it's too rainy, try touring historic Wilmington which is just inland of WB. Ever seen Dawson's Creek? Then you've seen a lot of Wilmington as the series was shot there. Also, check out the battleship USS North Carolina in downtown Wilmington. Lots to do in the area but watch yourself after dark downtown. Lots of bars and the rowdies that come with them once the tourists leave with the sunset. Leave a Comment Directions: Take Market Street from Wrightsville. You can't miss it.

by acemj The surf was nothing to write home about on the day that I visited, but the white sand was impressive and the crowd seemed decidedly family-oriented and laid back. Leave a Comment

"The Loop" is a 2 1/2 mile designated area for walking, jogging and bike riding. It is pet friendly and definitely worth checking out. There are small park area's set up along the way to rest if you need to. There seemed to be people on it 24/7. It is a nice way to take in the scenery and enjoy the fresh beach air.
