We enjoyed touring the grounds - it took most of a day. This museum is normally open only during summer and weekends on the shoulder seasons.

 Red Panda at the Red
River Zoo by my2kids
We travel to the zoo many times during the summer just to see what the Mercats and Red Pandas are up too.
The zoo features exotic and native animals and plants from areas around the world with similar climates to the Red River Valley. Over three hundred animals of seventy-five species reside at the Red River Zoo.
Don't forget to stop and play at the playground and take in a Carousel Ride too.
OPEN:
Zoo opens for the 2005 season on Saturday, April 30th.
Open daily from 10am to 8pm through Labor Day.
September 6th through October 29th, open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00pm to 4pm (weather permitting).
ADMISSION:
$5.50 - Adults
$4.50 - Seniors over 60yrs.
$3.50 - Children 2-14yrs.

 Pioneers by their
homestead by my2kids
An historic village of over 40 buildings depicting life in the Red River Valley in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Guests travel back to the time when our bonanza farm homes dotted the wheat-blanketed plains and our general store was spilling over with merchandise.
The self guided tour includes authentic log cabins, church, schoolhouse, train depot, and bonanza farm mansion. Each building is filled with period furnishings and artifacts. In addition Bonanzaville features a main museum housing Native American artifacts, dolls, world war memorabilia and much more. Also vintage automobile, tractor and airplane museums are a part of the village.
While Bonanzaville is a fun place to visit anytime of year - keep watch on their website and visit when they have special events such as Pioneer Days in August or Wild West Jamboree in July.

Not only do they have a museum portion of the place with tons of hands on actitivities for the kids; outside you can ride on a train, play in the playground, take a ride on a carousel, and play a game of miniature golf.
