I love the Clifton Gaslight District - it's funky, it's cool, it's eclectic, it's got a groovy downbeat feel, it's full of the hip, diverse student population, plus the stores in the area cater to that whole vibe. Stop by & you might see a Cambodian monk; you'll definitely see a busker at any time of day!
Architecture is just beautiful in this area, big old Victorian houses with faux gaslit lamps along the streets (hence the name of the area); I love strolling through here either before taking in a foreign/art film at the Esquire Theatre or after listening to some live music at Sitwell’s Coffeehouse on the weekend.
There are lots of great arty funky shops in the vicinity, too!
If you're in Cincinnati, take the time to walk around the Clifton area...day or night. There's a wide variety of shops, restuarants, clubs, music halls, and anything else you can think of.
In this area you will find the widest cross section of the city's population. Here, one sees everything and everyone...it's great!
