Mount Adams is a sleek, trendy neighborhood in older Cincinnati which features hip and funky bars, wine bars, cafes and restaurants. When celebrities come to visit Cincinnati they come here. The neighborhood isn't truly Bohemian, but it is unique, and features a number of interesting churches.

Mt Adams is a pretty area of historic homes and businesses snugly fit in among cozy, tree lined streets high above the rest of Cincinnati. It has an east coast feel - like Concord, MA or Alexandria just outside of DC - only on a smaller scale and higher. You can get terrific views of the city skyline and the Ohio river into Kentucky here. Try climbing the steps to the Holy Cross church or walk down Hill street for the view that residents get from their homes. You'll find a good selection of restaurants, pubs, and there's even a wine bar. Don't miss Eden Park just down the street.

Right around the corner from Eden Park & the Cincinnati Art Museum you'll find Mt. Adams, what I like to call the Montmartre of Cincinnati. When you've had your fill of art at the museum, fun in the park or Shakespeare in the Park, mosey on over to Mt. Adams for the best of the city:
    great restaurants
    great bars
    great nightclubs
    great jazz
    great views
    beautiful architecture
a lovely ramble along the winding, cobblestoned streets
a great place to jog in peace early morning/late evening

Mt. Adams feels like a safe haven, rarely do you hear of crime occurring up here, plus the vibe as you walk around is just great. This is one of the more upscale sections of the city as people pay a premium for the great views and wonderful ambience. Like Montmartre in Paris it feels like a village unto itself - a part of the city yet not part of the city.

Click on the link below to see a listing of all the restaurants, shops, nightclubs & taverns, churches, about the art museum & Eden park.

East of downtown, is a hilly, winding neighborhood lined with old homes, restaurants, bars and some nice parks, museums and historical sites. Although I wasn't there at the proper time, I imagine the views of the skyline at sunrise are amazing. Ditch the car and explore by foot.

Pictured: Mount Adams as seen from the Carew Tower observation deck. I defintely want to explore this area more.
