Located in historic Over-the-Rhine section of Cincinnati, you'll find the grand, beautiful edifice, Music Hall, home to the illustrious Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet & Cincinnati Pops. During the holiday season, the kids & I like to come here to see the magical production of "The Nutcracker Suite". Music Hall was built in 1878 by what was most likely the nation's first matching-grant fund drive. Its Springer Auditorium is well-known for its amazing acoustics. When I wish to find myself a little slice of Paris I like to visit here because the grand old-world décor reminds me of the Opéra Garnier.
Music Hall has the largest seating capacity of any in the United States!
4 or 5 years ago in May, I was thrilled to meet our excellent young conductor, Paavo Jarvi & the famous concert pianist, André Watts who performed together to celebrate the opening of the National Underground Freedom Railroad Center.
I've also had the pleasure of seeing violinists such as Gil Shaham (Sept 16, 2006) and Leonidas Kavakos (Sept 42, 2005). Click on this link to my travelogue for more photos of Mr. Kavakos, Paavo Jarvi and his lovely wife, Tatiana Berman:

Ghost hunters will be happy to note that supposedly Music Hall is haunted!

Cincinnati Music Hall is widely regarded as one of the best and most beautiful mucic performance venues in the world. The 3,516 seat Springer Auditorium, with Its extraordinary acoustics and lavish old-world decor, makes any concert here a very special event. The magnificent old building was erected in 1878, with private funds in what is believed to have been the nation's first matching grant fund drive.
Cincinnati Music Hall is home of the Cincinnati Arts Association, and provides rehersal and performance space for a dozen arts institutions, performing groups and companies. They are:
Broadway in Cincinnati
Cincinnati Ballet
Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra

Our favorite of these is the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and we attend their concerts often. Each program has a different theme and there is usually a special guest performer or performers. The conductor, Erich Kunzel, has a wonderful raport with his audience and makes each Pops concert fun.
