  • Flying Monkey: ...and another...

    by CoAir13 Updated Feb 15, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Tell the bartender "Show me the monkey", and out of the wall above the bar comes Nikko, the bar's mascot, crashing and flashing in all of it's robotic splendor!! Everything in here is hardwood, local artist's work adorns the walls, inviting atmosphere, 10 beers on tap, and friendly service.
Like every other bar in this area, it's mostly thirty-somethings...very unpretentious.

  • Edison's Pub: ....and another

    by CoAir13 Written Feb 15, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Ocassional DJ's, ocassional live bands....mostly alternative/punk type crowd. This is a converted house decorated to honor Thomas Edison...pool table and a summer patio. There are over 100 types of beer served here and the bartenders know about them all!! Local artists display their work on the walls in hopes of a sale or two.

  • The Treehouse: Tremont Pub

    by CoAir13 Written Feb 15, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A faux tree spreads its limbs over the bar area and people sit on tree stump stools. Colorful murals of County Mayo adorn the walls....Guiness flows.....Guiness flows....Guiness flows......and the specialty is the Stoli Doli. Pineapples marinating in vodka. Supposedly an Irish pub feel, but not really. Alternative rock is the music choice and it's not too loud. Outdoor seating in the summer.

  • Duck Island: Laid Back and Comfortable

    by CoAir13 Written Feb 2, 2004

It's dark woodwork and low-lighting are very inviting. The front room has the bar and tables, the the arched, brick doorway will take you in back where there are couches in a candlelit, cavernous, atmosphere. The music isn't too loud and the service is friendly.
My friend Dave (pic) was happy to oblige me and my friends on my birthday!

  • Tremont

    by CoAir13 Written Jan 28, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Tremont neighborhood is a little more laid back than any other "nightlife" area in Cleveland. There are many bars within walking distance of each other. Bars, pubs, corner watering holes, trendy restaurants, and art galleries. One weekend a month, there is an art walk......galleries stay open late so you can stop in between pubs. In the summer, artisans who live in the area will put their goods on a table in the front yard to sell. Check out the website for more information.

Mahall's Twenty Lanes: We're Goin' Bowlin'

    by J&P Written May 31, 2003

Although there was a league upstairs decked out in Hawaiin shirts and lei's, we had the downstairs alleys to ourselves. It's a great old classic, with creamsicle colored seats and Brunswick crowns that light up when you hit a strike. The people are nice, the prices are easy, and it's just a classic Cleveland thing to do (Drew Carey theme song - "we're going bowling, so don't lose her in Solon, moon over Parma bring my love to me tonight).

Dress Code: Stop by the vintage shop and pick up a cool shirt on the way - of course the shoes are in the deal.
