The Best Words are in the Eyes of the Bookstore

by LynnieAshB Written Dec 26, 2011

Loganberry Books in the Shaker Square area (of Shaker Hts) is AMAZING!! After Border's closed and I needed to find a new bookstore, I found Loganberry. After being recommended from a few friends, I tried it. I'm hooked! The wooden floor creeks when you walk, books of varying ages, and even a store cat :-) I always joke that I was born in the wrong era and this bookstore fits me perfectly. My lates aquisition was a book of Emily Dickinson poetry published in 1941. They do not have many mass print books, but they'll order them for you if you want them to. The books, for the most part, are ones that a true "bookie" or nerd (I'm both- and proud of it) would get excited over. My first trip, I only planned to go in, grab a book, and leave. I was in there for at least 2 hours. They have lectures, a book club, and other events going on all the time. Definitely a must for anyone who loves the feel and smell of literature at it's finest!

  • Tasty Polish Pastries

Farkas Pastry Shoppe has very yummy, interesting pastries. You can find bakery items here you can't find anywhere else. I really enjoyed a piece of cake made with ground almonds and raspberry jam. And the owner was very friendly. Most of their business is for restaurants, but they open to the public on Saturdays. It's down the street from the West Side Market.

    It has a parking.
It is a rather large mall well organized, with a beautiful decoration.
