  • The cab drivers will sometimes weave you all over an area of town; especially downtown, because of all the lights that force them to wait and build your fare. So yes, they do this to get a higher fare from you! >:(

BE DIRECT. Tell them exactly where you need to go and even how you'd like to get there! Tell them before your intentions before you get in the cab so that they can lose your business if they aren't going to comply.

Rock N Roll Hall Disguises Other Great Museums

  • Most guides to Cleveland usually list the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame at the top of the list. Although the museum is well done, it is still considered new and does not have the quantity of items one might expect upon visiting. I have heard many have come out disappointed at the lack of exhibits. The price tends to be considerably higher than others in the area that I find to be much better. (Current admission $20)

Make sure you visit the signature "globe". The past few friends that have went through totally missed it! I have to say its the highlight of the museum. Make sure you check your map upon entering and ask if you can't find it. Do some research on musical guests that may be playing that night. They usually have great deals. We also have numerous festivals that are set up outside the Rock Hall that are free during the year. College students and military can receive a discount. AAA members can also purchase discounted tickets but in ADVANCE.

The Science Center is right next door. It contains 3 floors of interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and a huge IMAX movie theater. They usually get some of the best traveling exhibits such as BodyWorlds. I had to wait an hour in line to see it in Chicago, but only 5 minutes here! It is also considerably cheaper, and great for families with young children. Be sure to check it out if you are in the area! (Current admission $13 for Omnimax and Exhibits)

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - can we say dull?

  • This is one of the smallest museums, with the highest price tag I have ever been in. I actually went thru it with a friend in less than 30 minutes & we didn't just blow thru it, we stopped to read a lot of the plaques and signs. Loving the Beatles, I went then they had the John Lennon display and it was still too little/too dull. The gift shop prices aren't any deal either.

If you have a deep love for the oldies and want to read up about how rock and roll began... then it might be ok for you. Other wise only the funny costumes they wore are interesting.

Right next door is the Science Center... if you aren't interested at all in hands on science fun... the IMAX is incredible no matter what is playing.

The Hard Rock Cafe has more interesting displays and it has good fries!
