Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse, Columbus, OH by atufft I didn't actually eat here but found this place during a stroll through Short North. The architectural layout of the place makes it worth consideration in any case. The website reveals the Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse Restaurant explains that it is inside the restored Union Rail Station. The Hyde Park Steakhouse is one of 14 such franchises, most of them in Ohio, and mostly within urban settings such as this. Leave a Comment

All Dressed up at Schmidt's Sausage Haus by Stephen-KarenConn Located in the heart of Columbus' "German Village," Schmidt's Sausage Haus und Restaurant has been serving authentic German dishes, and their own concoctions, since 1886. It is now operated by the fifth generation of Schmidt's. Old world decor, costumed servers and the quaint setting make it a memorable place to eat.
The "Bahama Mama" is a specialty here. It is a large weiner of coarse ground beef and pork, hickory smoked and a little spicey. I had mine with a side of potato pancakes. Chocoholics will love the Fudge Pie for desert. Leave a Comment Theme: German/AustrianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 240 E. Katzinger's is Columbus's best deli. It's a cheerful, funky place with sausages hanging from the ceiling, a tall counter, loads of imported foodstuffs ranging from olive oils, to gourmet chips, to pesto, to cheeses. Dozens of unique menu items ranging from traditional deli sandwiches (rubens, corned beef, chicken salad) to more eclectic fare (calamari and lox on wheat). Pick from one of their creations, or construct your own. Anyone purchasing a sandwhich can pull a garlic or dill from the homemade pickle barrels.

This restaurant features the most tasty South Indian food in town. Like so many other gems in Columbus, it is located in a strip mall. Simple and unpretensious in decor, the food is the highight. The best time to go is between 10:00 and 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday or Tuesday nights. It is at these times when the buffet is

A diamond in the rough, this tiny restaurant sits in a non-descript strip mall. Rich, authentic and flavorful food. If taste runs toward spicy, you'll definitely want to check this out. The restaurant is family owned, and the staff is extraordinarily friendly and fun.
Pa Nan Gai- Coconut milk, peanuts, chicken and lemon grass with as much spiciness as you can stand. Any soup on the menu is delightful. Thai 'Iced Tea'- a unique sweet and nutty drink- almost a desert in a glass. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Dublin. About 1 mile north of I-270 on Sawmill Road. Only a few minutes from the Columbus, Zoo.

People who find themselves hungry in Columbus after 10:00 p.m. on weeknights typically order a pizza. With the exception of trashy 24 hour chain restuarants (Tee-Jay's, Steak and Shake) Columbus pretty much rolls up the sidewalks at around 10:00 p.m Monday-Thursday. The Olde Mohawk is one of the happy exceptions to this, staying open past midnight on weekdays, and past 1:00 a.m. A 'Pub with Grub' with low key lighting and a laid back atmosphere, the Mohawk sits in the heart of beautiful German Village. The food is by no means expeptional, but its pretty good. The burgers are large, and the various single portion pizzas are quite good. The favorites amougnst regulars seem to be the pastas. The best menu item tends to be the ever changing special- which is what I almost always order. Tuesdays are all-you-can-eat-quesadilla nights. The deserts are outstanding. A suprising menu item: real turtle soup (tastes like chicken.)

The Japanese Steakhouse makes a great lunch or dinner outing any day of the year. When you're seated in front of your grille, and your chef comes to cook, it's some of the best entertainment you can get. The chefs humour you with crazy food antics and jokes (often one chef will toss a shrimp tail at another), and you get to see the food cooked before you. The Steakhouse has wonderful steak and seafood, but the meal I highly suggest is the Chicken Sakura. The chef grilles a chicken breast, and tops it with a creamy, dense sauce that literally melts in your mouth. Most Japanese steakhouses I've been to outside of Columbus do not serve this sauce, so be sure to order it. And, if you prefer a intensely cultural meal, you should try some sushi. Pick your favourite variety--it's all good.

by SeannyMac Lindey's is a wonderful restaurant in German Village, but it can get expensive. It's definately a place for a special occasion. The setting is pleasant and the service is helpful and quick. The food is tasty, to say the least. Most entrees have unusual side-dishes, but they're still enjoyable.
