  • Nice sports bar located in northwest Columbus. Many tv's to watch sports and the NTN video game where you can compete against others in trivia.

After a softball game, we met up here for drinks and food. We ordered a couple pitchers of Sierra Nevad Pale Ale along with the special (gyro's) and fries with chili and chese.

Cap City Diner: Home cooking made funky gourmet
  • By ColumbusGuy on April 15, 2003
  • Columbus Page by ColumbusGuy
  • The cheapest and most crowded of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants, Cap City diner brings Mitchell's modern eclectic style to home-cooking favorites. Meatloaf, BLTs, Chili, Hamburgers, Mashed Potatoes are all "re-interpreted" as gourmet cuisine that will please both the gourmand and the McDonald's crowd alike. The decor is Faux-50's diner- somewhat like "Jackrabbit Slim's" from the movie "Pulp Fiction" without the cars. On weekends this place is very busy.

Meatloaf. With mashed potatoes and crispy onions and a bit of fruity chutney on top this is mmm-mm good.

Cap City Fine Diner and Bar: Great Local Diner

  • I love this restaurant. The ambience is a little retro, a little casual, and all around cool. The food is great. The menu is chock full of good 'ole American comfort food: meat loaf, chicken pot pie, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese. However, Cap City makes comfort food original with impressive presentation and other little touches, such as making the mashed potatoes spicy. It's just a great place. I've been there many times. You can make a date out of it by eating dinner at Cap City and then going to the movie theater a few doors down.

I love the meat loaf and the pork chops. The dessert is great, too.

    Cardone's Restaurant & Bar: Made-from-scratch Italian Food
  • Satisfaction:

  • Four of us had lunch at Cardone's and we all agreed that it was a terrific place. The food is the star and prices are reasonable. This white tablecloth restaurant is nicely decorated, and we liked the Frank Sinatra music. It's a comfortable atmosphere.

This restaurant would be good for special occasions, dates and everyday dining. Service is very good.

We loved the Arancini appetizer (deep-fried risotto balls stuffed with house-made mozzarella, served with garlic aioli, $6). Yum!

Salad greens were very fresh, tossed in just the right amount of vinagrette. The waitress grated some good parmesan from a block of cheese.

My entree was the 5-cheese ravioli in basil-pesto sauce ($9). I had to stop talking and close my eyes to experience it fully. It was that good! Same thing with the fig gelato ($4).

Cheeseburger in Paradise: Best burgers in Polaris

  • Although it is a chain, Cheeseburger in Paradise is a great place to grab a burger and chill. In CbinP in Polaris the staff was friendly, the food came out quick and it was great. They have pretty good happy hour deals (Margaritas, Mojitos, beer...). They also have wheatbun option, side veggies or rice.... veggieburger and turkeyburger options.

Burgers! their fries aren't too bad too...

Chipotle gourmet burritos and tacos: Great Mexican meal
  • Satisfaction:
  • spartan

  • Chicken sizzles, you smell the spices, the music is a little loud, steel tables and blonde wood chairs are the scene under ductwork. The food is good, huge and makes you want to come back for more.

I had a Carnitas Burrito (giant flour tortilla filled with cilantro-lime rice, black beans, cheese, seasoned pork and roasted chili-corn salsa) with chips and salsa on the side.

    Cozymel's Coastal Grill: A tropical...not typical restaurant
  • Satisfaction:
  • spartan
  • Updated By spartan on January 17, 2005

  • The Cozymel's Coastal Grill unique menu that celebrates the rich culture of the Yucatan and Latin American coasts (e.g., distinctive sauces, flavorful spices, grilled beef and chicken, slow roasted pork and fresh seafood). When you visit the restaurant, you'll see open kitchens and swirling margarita machines which make for a very lively experience and provides for you a little piece of Mexico.

For a cocktail, I had a couple Clasico Margaritas (on the rocks with tequila and triple sec) and for dinner I selected the Tijuana Caesar Salad (crisp romaine lettuce tossed with Cozymel's own Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese, pico de gallo, crispy tortilla puffs and grilled shrimp).

On my second trip to this location, I had the Caldo de la Casa (rich chicken soup with avocado, rice, corn, pico de gallo, lime & tortilla crisps) and the Cozyman Sampler (Five sampler-sized margaritas including Primo Rita, Laguna Rita, Cozymel, Raz Rita and Jose's Gold).

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store: Their mission is to please people

  • Everyone who walks in their front door gets a warm welcome and a good meal at a fair
    price.

For a quick but filling meal, try the Tortilla Soup with Corn Muffins on the side or the 4 Choice Vegetable Plate (mac & cheese, pinto beans, hashbrown casserole, fried apple dumplings).

Engine House No. 5: Engine House No. 5

  • The resteraunt is located in an old firehouse in historic German Village. When it's a special occasion, the waiter brings you a cake by sliding down the old engine house pole.
Be sure to let them know if you're having a birthday or something.
    (PS Dress nice)

menu varies- lots of EXCELLENT seafood and steaks. Very pricy, but well worth it.

    Figlio's: Italian done wood-fired!
  • Satisfaction:
  • Updated By deewells on July 30, 2003
  • Columbus Page by deewells
  • Figlio's is a wonderful restaurant if you like wood-fired pizzas or delicious pastas. It's a great semi-casual atmosphere with reasonably priced entrees (10 - 15$). There are two restaurants - one in Grandview and one in Upper Arlington. I prefer the one in UA because the dining room has a little bit of a less crowded feel.

I would recommend the Blackened Chicken Pizza or the Shrimp and Scallop Pasta - both are excellent every time I visit. Also try the Caesar salad - I'm a conniseur of Caesar salads and this is by far the best dressing I've ever tasted.
