This is the restaurant that Chinese people eat at in Columbus. To prove this to yourself, you need only visit during lunchtime on the weekends and you'll see lots of large groups and families sharing dim sum and various dishes. Like most great Chinese restaurants (eg, House of Nanking in San Francisco), the interior is far from fancy, but the chef is a master. However, you will need to ask for the Chinese menu so you are not limited to the typical fried rice/General Tso chicken/egg drop soup fare. Some of the wait staff have better English skills than others, but they're all very friendly and professional. And the food is reasonably priced. My wife celebrated her birthday here last year, and the bill for 15 guests was just over $200.
It is nearly impossible to narrow it down, but here are some of my faves: spicy salted squid, crispy smelts, spicy wonton appetizer, Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce, scallion pancake, mapa tofu, etc. Please note that, although good, their dim sum is served by order, not off carts as is typical for big-city dim sum restaurants. Remember that Chinese families order food family style and share several dishes. In other words, if you order the squid, all you're getting is a plate of squid with nothing else but a bowl of white rice. Be prepared to order a couple of meat or fish dishes and one or two vegetables. This place is cool and classy. The food is more or less Asian fusion. The sushi isn't bad for the Columbus area. The location is great, as it's right on the Short North. If it's a gallery hop night and the weather is nice, try to get a table on the patio. It's a great place to people watch. The bathroom is something to check out for sure. The water in the sink comes out of a stick of bamboo. I've had some great memories of that place.
The chicken lettuce wraps are my favorite. It's delicious. Theme: Eclectic/InternationalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about average

This is one of my favorite Columbus restaurants. It's a great date restaurant. The ambience is elegant, yet not over-the-top. The service and the food is also great. It's part of the Cameron Mitchell chain, which is very familiar in the Columbus area.
I haven't had anything I didn't like from that restaurant, and I've been there many times. Last time I went, I had an amazing martini with berries and champagne.

Best pastries in town! A great little place that offers tortes, cookies, breads, and pastries. They also have soups, salads, and sandwiches. They have classical music on a grand piano on weekend evenings. Leave a Comment

This Cafe and Bakery is extremely cute. You walk in there is a large selection of Coffees and Teas to warm you up if it is chilly. It is set up in small tables where you and your friend can sit and chat, but they can accommodate larger parties. I took my mom there for her birthday, where we sat 8 (call ahead for the reservation though). The food is very good, mostly of German/Austrian origin, but they boast to have a lot of different dishes from all over Europe. They have a grand piano in the corner, and when we were there the woman played classical music for us, and when we brought out the cake, she played Happy Birthday and everyone in the cafe sang. However, it is not the best place to bring kids. They also have a parking lot.
Ok, the food is good, but what will get you is the cake! The cake is expensive, but well work it. I got my mom a chocolate cake (about 30$). It was hand decorated with dipped chocolate flowers. The first thing my mom said to me after trying it was, "this is a whole lot better than the cake your sister had for her wedding", and I totally agree. Nancy’s is the spot for mom’s home cooking. The walls are decorated with signed pictures of football players mostly Buckeyes. The place offers one or two dishes and you can eat that or not. The food given depends on the day of the week. Noodle and Chicken on Thursday is a popular dish. This one sometimes sells out and the place may close early. Due to the construction outside on the sidewalk the restaurant was not too busy as it was hard t get in and see that the place was open. I got to try the delicious noodle and chicken and got a hard to get seat by the counter due to the sidewalk problem. It is a popular spot for politicians, OSU students and locals. It is where the news comes to get it’s man on the street opinions.
Well, it has to be the Noodle and Chicken. It's the only one they have on Thursdays and the only one I've tried:) Leave a Comment Theme: DinerPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 3133 N High StPhone: (614) 265-9012Directions: 3133 N High St Columbus, OH 43202-1125

Ok, I won't go as far as saying it is THE best Chinese in the city, because there are some very nice sit-down family places, but it is THE best Chinese takeout hands down.

The interior of the restaurant is made of brick, wood and many windows staring out onto High Street. There is food counter service where you order at the counter and take your card and place it on the table. A server brings the food to your table when it is ready. In addition, there is an area where you can read magazines on sofa and armchair. I ate the mushroom frittata which contained Shiitakes, portabellas, onions and gruyere cheese. It came with side of roasted potatoes and a biscuit. To drink I tried the Strawberry smoothie. I enjoyed my dish mainly because I love cheese and the mushrooms. Everyone seemed to love their dishes. The diner is supplied by local farmers so their product is fresh.

Fantastic food at all times as Cameron Mitchell's Ocean Club is a cut above. It is located at the very trendy Easton Town Center and sits essentially in the middle of everything.
Everything is good, but I like the steaks

We started off with warm sourdough bread and butter. For the appetizer, we had the Thai Stir-Fried Calamari (with snow peas and peanuts). For dinner, I selected Baby Back Ribs (1/2 slab barbecued with house fries and jalapeno cole slaw). Since my brother knew the manager, he provided us free dessert...so I had the Créme Brulée.
