If you love books, then you will, no doubt "flip" when you experience the 32-rooms of books found at the Book Loft in the German Village section of Columbus, Ohio.
It is quite easy is to get lost here because the place is like a maze, meandering here, there, and everywhere!

Besides books, you will find cards, posters, magnets, boxes, bags, CDs, and various other items. There are plenty of helpful workers if you are lost or if you just need assistance. Best of all, all items and new books are at discount prices.

The least expensive books were located outside just before entering the shop.
Since The Book Loft is a city-block long, as you enter, you are given a Directory with an easy map and explanation of the store layout. It's divided by Porch, Lower West Wing, Upper West Wing, Upper East Wing, Lower East Wing.

Jill and I both purchased canvas bags to put our purchased books in (we do this on each trip we take in the springtime!). In addition, both of us purchased book; I bought 4 books, and Jill bought 6 books.

First Photograph is of the PORCH at The Book Loft

The Second Photograph is really two pictures: first is Jill as she entered the store, and the second is after Jill had made her purchases and was standing outside THE BOOK LOFT

    Store House:
    Sunday through Thursday: 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
    Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.-Midnight

    From 5%-70% off retail prices

One of the positives about staying right downtown at the Hyatt on Capitol Square is that it is connected to Columbus City Center Mall

This mall has about 135 different stores, restaurants, and services. It came in handy for Jill and I. Columbus was the last spot on our travel agenda, and I still had not found a bathing suit for my darling granchild, Sabrina Dee. I needed a children's store; fortunately, inside the Columbus City Center Mall, I found the shop called, The Children's Place.

They had a wide selection of children's clothing, including bathing suits. I was looking for a size 18 months in bright colors. BINGO! They had several that fit that description.

I finally selected a lime green and aqua suit with darling gold fish on the bodice (see the second photograph). When I gave Sabrina the suit, she approved. Better yet, her mother Jill, my daughter, really loved it. Can't wait until it is warm enough for swimming.

Jill and I perused the entire three floors of shops at this delightful Columbus City Center Mall.

Depending on the store, you pay regular prices that are typical of that particular store.

easton town center mall: like stepping into it's own little town

  • in my opinion, easton is the best mall in columbus, for multiple reasons.
firstly, the architecture is nice- half outdoor half inside the mall stores set up in a little village setting. there are stores here you won't find anywhere else in columbus, and usually always something fun going on here, especially in the summer.

my favourite stores here are the body shop, (which carries really wonderful bath and body products that aren't tested on animals, and a lot of the products support community fair trade in countries that need it.) virgin megastore had a large selection of music, movies, books and related, but the prices are a bit high.

that really depends on where you shop in the mall.

  • Easton Town Center is an outdoor mall. It's sort of like a trip back to the 1950s but better. The streets have parking and there's parking lots and garages. There's plenty to see and do and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat.

Easton even has a comedy club, movie theater and hotels nearby.

I would stop in the store called "The Container Store". It has everything you need to organize your house or apt.

Easton Town Center: I love this mall.

  • I've been to malls around the world, but Easton is one of my favorite shopping malls ever. However, if you're looking for extremely high end, luxury items (especially clothes), this is not the mall for you. What it does offer is your typical chain stores. But, Easton has a Victoria's Secret flagship store, complete with huge pictures of VS supermodels on the side of the building. If that's not enough, the collection of mannequins in lingerie with huge, feather angel wings is pretty impressive. Slightly frightening, maybe, but definitely impressive. This mall is also the place where many companies (particular Limited Brands and Abercrombie & Fitch) test items to see how they sell. You may find items here before they hit other stores around the country. That being said, there are some unique shops in this large mall. Some of my favorites are Global Gallery and Dr. Mojoe.

Rags'O'Rama: Buy, Sell, Trade Trendy Clothes

  • So you are a fashionable soul, am perhaps you gained or lost a little weight or just are sick and tired of your wardrobe. Rags'O'Rama could be the solution you have been looking for. They will buy sell or trade good quality trendy clothes! It can be a blast browsing and trying to find treasures in the racks, and there are many. If you like thrifty this is definitely a place to check out.

I bought a leather coat once from them. I think it was 20$.

More than Goodwill, or Salvation Army, but less than department stores. Except if it is Columbus 1$ sale!!!

  • This is the Limited Brands (whose headquarters is down the street) flagship store. Here is where they test new product introductions. In addition to the Victoria Secret brand lingerie, they have VS beauty products, upscale brand makeup (Lola, Anna Sui, Pupa), and a boutique of Italian lingerie (INTIMISSIMI), and a designer section with selections such as Betsy Johnson.

  • Easton is an outdoor shopping experience. I know most tourists are sick of malls, but this one is worth checking out on a nice day. With its attention to detail it is just fun to window shop and walk around outside. Easton is also the place to find huge stores of all the Limited Brands. Ie Victoria's Secret, Express, Express Men, Bath and Body Works....

You pay what you would in most department stores. Food and drinks are pricey although the food in general is good.

The movie theater is reasonably priced although not great:
    Matinee prices:
$6.50 for adults, student* and seniors
    $5.50 for children ages 2 thru 12*
Children under 2 years of age do not pay admission

    Evening prices:
$8.50 for adults ages 13 and older without student ID
$7.50 for students* with a valid, current ID
$6.50 for seniors ages 55 and up
    $5.50 for children ages 2 through 12*
    * Children under 2 years of age do not pay admission
