With the motto, "Life's too Short - Eat Cookies," Blue Chip Cookie Bakery and Cafe is a great place in historic downtown Loveland to stop of a yummy treat. It is especially pleasant to eat on one of the outdoor picnic tables when the weather is nice.
This is part of a small chain which is headquartered here in Loveland, and has stores in about four states.
Favorite Dish: The macadamia nut cookies here are some of the best that money can buy.
The first thing you will notice when you walk into Sleepy Hollow Inn is that the inside is very dim and there are Christmas lights twinkling everywhere - even in the middle of summer. It happens that the owner decorated for Christmas many years ago and liked it so much that he decided to just keep the lights up all the time. I've been eating at Sleeping Hollow, off and on, for more than five years, and the Christmas lights have been shining for longer than that.
I have enjoyed eating here on a few occasions, but enjoyed it less the last time Karen and I were there. I think that may be because cigarette smoke was wafting over to our table from the smoking section, and the service, while not terribly bad, could have been much better.
Favorite Dish: The chicken enchiladas here are very good and the portions are large. The southern fried chicken is a speciality, but to my taste it's too heavily breaded and could be better seasoned.
