After we left Marietta, we took a little drive north and jumped off the interstate just before Cambridge. We found this wonderful apple orchard and thoroughly enjoyed spending a few hours picking apples and even getting a great BIG PUMPKIN...it was alot of fun!!!!
The pumpkin only cost $5 and the apples was $5 for a 10 lb bag. We had a ball....
Just over the Ohio River from Marietta, in Williamstown, West Virginia, is Fenton Art Glass. This family owned and operated business, founded in 1905, is the largest manufacturer of handmade colored glass in the United States. They serve a large and enthusiastic following of collectors around the world.
Free factory tours are offered every Monday-Friday during working hours. It has been rated one of the top ten factory tours in America. There is also a free museum and an expansive gift shop which offers both first line products as well as seconds. Karen loved the place, so we bought both birthday and Christmas gifts here.
To find the factory from Marietta take the bridge across the river to West Virginia, turn south down Hwy. #14, and look for signs on the left. It isn't far.
