One of the newest bridges across the Ohio. It's and pictures of it's predicessor are visible from Grant Park, named for Mrs. Grant, not the Gen. and President. Actual piceces of the old bridge show how it was supported. The new bridge is a wire rope bridge and completly different. Great views.

In the old downtown, the concrete levees have been painted with scenes from the history of the area. Found Roy Rogers, the flood of 1937, and lots of other interesting images. The cities information center and historic district are all right there. It's a chance for the kids to get out and talk a bit. There is also access to the river and a view of the U.S. Grant Bridge.

This is a family-run place, where pizzas are caringly made from scratch, and loaded. No dining area, but they'll find you a place to sit and eat if you wish. They deliver.
Favorite Dish: There is something about pizza in the Ohio River Valley. Every town has at least one great place, and this is Portsmouth's.

There goes Mary Jo, on Sunday morning, heading north on Highway 104... Notice Glenn's bike on the roof of the van; AKA the sag wagon. He opted to take the back seat... says his butt hurt.

This is Bev... On Sunday morning, the ride became more difficult. There was a brisk cross-wind from the West.
Then it started to rain.

Be prepared to dress for all kinds of weather.
Even though the weather was nice the first day, it was windy and rainy the second day of the ride.
