Favorite thing: Every town worth its salt has a monument and this is ours. It is dedicated to all U. S. veterans - not just those from Sharonville. There are individual marble pedestals or plaques honoring all six branches of the armed forces, and also special recognition to women in uniform and prisoners of war. It's really a pretty spot, across the parking lot from our public library, and across the street from the Gower Park. If I found any fault with the monument it would be that not a single name of a veteran is mentioned. The only names to be found at Patriot Pointe are of doners who contributed to have it errected, and the public officials who voted for it. Seems to me that while honoring ALL veterans they have neglected honoring any. If a veteran from Sharonville gives his/her life for their country, they get no mention. But if you give $50 you can have your name forever inscribed on a brick. Just my observation. Thank God for our veterans, and especially for those who have paid the supreme sacrifice of their lives to defend our liberty.
Favorite thing: Bring your own tools. When we pulled up there were people there already digging around on the cliffs and piles. Be careful and have fun!
