Go to the Toledo Museum of Art. It is always free and it has a world class collection without the crowds. Then drive to the East Side for dinner at Tony Packo's Cafe--go on a Friday or Saturday to hear the Cake Walkin' Jazz Band--always the best Hungarian sausage, pigs in the blanket, and fried pickles and peppers! The estuary of the Maumee River from Lake Erie to Grand Rapids, OH is the most scenic and varied site.
We are relatively new to Toledo, but find it a most delightful town. It's not New York or Chicago, but it is a most livable city. Ironically, most of the locals look down their nose at the place - the grass always seems greener. Those of us who have moved here have found the grass very green, indeed. Leave a Comment

Walked around Water St. & Promenade Park by the river. There were some nice shops and restaraunts in the area.
Finding an artist shop that was open so we could warm up and talk to the shop owner about some of the interesting pieces created by local artists.
