There's something special about family tradition that makes for an amazing experience. This little hamburger shop has been in the same family since it opened in 1927. In a small town where everyone knows their neighbor, it's not surprising that even if it's your first time sitting on one of the 8 bar stools, you feel like you've been there before. With a friendly greeting as you walk through the door, immediately you feel at home. Crabill's is nothing short of nostalgia. While they cook the little hamburgers in a couple of inches of grease (which, some will say, is a family secret and is the reason why the burgers are so delicious) on a grill right in front of the only counter where you can sit, the locals converse with the cook about everything from their most recent hunting trip to the high school football game the night before. It's hard not to feel like a part of history while you're enjoying the tiny grease laden burgers. The small shop has portraits of the original owners and news articles from the past decorate the walls. Signs above the counter, next to the menu, boast of records achieved by those eating the most hamburgers at a time. But don't worry, you don't have to try to break the record of 31 hamburgers in one sitting. Most folks usually just grab a pair of burgers for a snack. And If you're craving more than a snack you will easily get a full stomach in no time. It's been said that the original Crabill's meal is a couple of doubles with (homemade) spicy brown mustard, onions and relish and a chocolate milk to wash it all down. They also have hot dogs, chips, and homemade pies and will serve you a Pepsi from the fountain or a Stewart's soda. By the end of your visit you will know the cook by name and they will probably know yours. You will find out the news around town and who caught the biggest buck of the season. Crabill's is home to simple folk who enjoy a simple meal. Your first time won't be your last, your stomach will be begging for more and you won't be able to resist the craving.
Favorite Dish: I usually order 5 doubles with cheese and mustard with a dipped bun and a Stewart's key lime soda. Most of the time I'll end up asking for a couple more. Without a doubt, these burgers will melt in your mouth.
