By Car : If you take US75 from Texas you will practically run straight into Durant, Oklahoma. Or you can take US69 from the north.
The annual Magnolia Festival is held in June. There is everything from arts, crafts and an antiques show and sale to music and entertainment. There is also a carriage tour of historic homes. The Children’s Village provides rides, games, clowns and a petting zoo.
Annual Spring Rendezvous and Reenactment is held in April at Fort Washita which is 14 miles northwest of Durant. You can step back in time and see history come to life.
The Choctaw Inter-Tribal PowWow is held in April and features authentic dances, costumes and tribal customs.

Durant is the first town in Oklahoma you will hit when driving from Texas on US Hwy 75. Our first trip was just a toe tap into Oklahoma however when we arrived home and read up on what there is to see there, we decided to see more on our next trip up that way.
