By Road : Three highways intersect within Madill. These are US 70, SH 99, and SH 199 (from Ft Washita). The nearest Interstate Highway is I-35, which is approximately 30 miles west. U.S. 69-75 is located 23 miles to the east.

The average January temperature in Madill is 42F with a July temperature average of 80F. Its not unusual to see tornado shelters in yards. This is tornado country.

Favorite thing: Our primary reason for going to this area was to see Fort Washita which is located between Madill and Durant... however, the only reason we went into Madill itself was to visit one of the peanut stores. If you are a fan of nuts, not just peanuts, this is the area for you.
