    County Line BBQ: Great BBQ

by msbrandysue Written Aug 1, 2007

County Line has a country, diner, cook-out feel. It is very laid back and have always enjoyed the food. You can come here for a laid back date, after a ball game, or with a big group, and find it meets your needs.

Taken from their website: Set in old 30's "speakeasy", this classic deco structure has a great view of the downtown lights in the distance. Structural highlights include curved glass brick, a curved ceiling & sweeping curved bar. Just two minutes from the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Open for Lunch & Dinner 7 days a week.

    Picture coming soon...

Favorite Dish: They have a turkey dish that comes with black pepper on it. It was fantastic. The best BBQ turkey plate I've ever had. I can't get anything other than that! Also, their beef brisket and sausage are fantastic.

  • Kansas City Blues BBQ: Excellent barbeque and affordable catering option

Kansas City Blues Barbeque offers some great soul food, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, smoked ham, smoked turkey, polish sausage and hot links. I also noticed that they offer a full-range of catering options. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and not too highbrow, with a mix of workers, power players and kids. Overall, a great value. Check out their daily specials.

Favorite Dish: The pulled pork and sliced brisket are two of my favorites. Plus the homemade pies and cakes are excellent.

any sandwich, side and a drink for $5.95 all-day inside the restaurant

    Pappy's: A great BBQ sandwich

by rexvaughan Written Jul 11, 2006

This little place is nothing fancy but has wonderful ‘pulled pork’ barbeque. If you are not familiar with ‘pulled pork’ it is very tender chopped pork, sometimes just pulled apart as it is so tender. Pappy’s is a funky little place with a simple menu and colorful ambience. Our sandwiches were served on a paper mat on a cafeteria tray but all very neat, clean and delicious.

Favorite Dish: We had the pork sandwich which was very good. It is served with no sauce so that you can choose your own - mild, hot or sweet, with very good coleslaw and potato chips. As good a BBQ sandwich as you are likely to find. They also do take out.

Shorty Smalls had good bbq sandwiches and good service. Best of all I got to meet VT member jedd43 there. DeLois was so very nice. If you are in Oklahoma I am certain she can advise you on things to see and do.

    Shorty Smalls: BBQ

by PinkFloydActuary Written Dec 21, 2010

We looked for a place that accommodated families, and Shorty Smalls seems to fit the bill. It's a pretty good-sized BBQ house, with your standard load of silly things on the walls for decor. They have a decent Kids menu, and the choices there run around $4.50, dessert included. For the grown-ups, there are many BBQ choices. I went with a combo platter of sausage and brisket. The sausage was quite good, but the brisket was just OK. It really comes down to the sauce, and the sauce here was a little too sweet for my taste. In total, the atmosphere is very casual, which works well for us, but the prices are just a tad too high for what you get. Service was OK - our server was pleasant and moderately attentive - on par with the rest of the experience.

Favorite Dish: The sausage was great -full of flavor and cooked well. Wish I had stuck with that.
