Oklahoma City has the largest asian population in the state and is home to a growing cultural district simply called, the Asia District, as it encompasses Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, filipino, and Japanese cultures and cuisines.
Located near multicultural Oklahoma City University, centred primarily along Classen Blvd from 22nd Street to NW 30th, the district has a multitude of restaurants, asian oriented retail, asian supermarkets, and attractions. Just recently, the so-called Gold Dome (a Geodescic domed roof building) on 23rd Street was purchased by a local investor who intends to develop it as an Asian International Cultural Centre.
The city and chamber are finally recognizing the potential of this once blighted neighbourhood and are teaming with local leaders to develop a showcase entrance (like a Chinese gate), Chinese-style streetlamps, and asian themed zoning.
Drop into the many restaurants to sample the Asian cuisine. Go to the Supermarket on Military Ave. - A MUST!!!!
No alternative exists in the state. There are other Asian enclaves, NW Expressway area and S. Western, but these are strip areas and very new. Leave a Comment

The Capitol Hill Main Street district is due south of downtown and is the centre of the city's Latin oriented commerce. While development has been much slower than other Bricktown or the Asian District, Capitol Hill does host many restaurants and retail outlets that would leave you to believe you were actually in Mexico.
It is tough to say exactly what direction the district will take but hopefully with the N. Canadian river (Oklahoma river) re-development and the apparent desire to return to the inner city interest in Capital Hill will recover more strongly.
Walk the street and experience the local shops, restaurants, and flavour of the district. Oh, and by the way, knowledge of Espanol may be helpful. Leave a Comment

Located at the Agnew Exit South of I-40 to Exchange Ave, Stockyards City is home to the home of the largest stocker/feeder cattle market in the world. The historic district recaptures the architectural flavor of the earlier part of this century, with gaslights and "Western Themed" retail storefronts.
Many of the businesses in Stockyards City date back to the early 1900s when the area was home to the major meat packing companies. The district still has weekly cattle auctions and tours are available.
A number of special events have sprung up as well, including Longhorn Cattle Drive each December, sidewalk sales between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the Stockyards Stampede the first weekend in June.

For a purely Oklahoma experience, this is a must. At this "Man's Joint" - steak and potatoes ARE the menu. If you can't handle a lot of beef (like myself), then 'steer away from here.' Otherwise, this may be THE place in OKC for you.
Cattlemen's Restaurant symbolizes the western heritage of the district and is one of the top tourist attractions. It is noted that President Bush comes here when in town (be that it may) and he only orders the "Two Steaks In One" Presidential Choice Cattlemen's Cut.
There are others, of course, but I think Cattlemen's symbolizes the western heritage of Oklahoma City and has great traditional "Cowboy Style" cuisine. Leave a Comment

Located along the Paseo Drive at roughly N. Walker Ave and NW 28th Street, the district is home to a number of chic' bars and restaurants and hosts an arts festival in the spring.

Frontier City is an amusement park and White Water is a swimming theme park type...your call.

Over 30 water rides, slides, pools, and activities. Brave the waves in the Wave Pool or challenge the 7-story Bermuda Triangle's three water slides.
The Cannonball Falls fires you into the water after a 6-foot drop. Try the 4-person Big Kahuna raft ride or the 65-foot freefall Acapulco Cliff Dive. Float down the lazy Castaway Creek.
