    Oklahoma City Transportation

The USA is a car oriented country. Mass transit is almost frowned upon and in times of cheap gas and US car dominance, it not only sounded good, it was the American way of life, part of the American Dream. So, a car is what you need. The buses and trains won't take you all the places you'll want to see. You don't need a four wheel drive or a fancy...

    Oklahoma City Transportation

Don't even think about using public transportation. OKC, like most cities between Chicago and California, has a skeleton system of public transit. In addition, the only way to get a cab is to call for one and wait about 20 minutes. Rent a car. You rarely have to pay for parking. OKC is one of the largest US cities (considering its area, not its...

    Oklahoma City Transportation

Although it was the middle of the wintertime in Oklahoma City, I was intrigued by one of the newest transportation options, the Bricktown Water Taxi. This floating transportation option docks across from Bricktown Ballpark, and takes a scenic 40 minute tour around the Bricktown area, including the Marriott and Bass Pro Shop, as well as some of the...

    Oklahoma City Transportation

If you are planning to fly into central Oklahoma, then Will Rogers Airport is your likely destination. This airport is located about 10 miles southwest of downtown OKC, and is a fairly convenient airport. Unlike most airports in the country, you can be in and out of the security lines here in 10 minutes or so, as they are highly efficient. There...

  • For Whom the Toll Bells

If you're driving from Joplin, Missouri, into Oklahoma City, expect to pay $7 in toll fees. If you're driving from Fort Smith, Arkansas, into Amarillo, Texas, expect to pay for nothing but gas. Driving to Lawton? Pull out the wallet. Driving to Ponca City? Set your mind at ease. Oklahoma seems to have as many turnpikes and toll roads as New Jersey....

  • Car Rental Works Well

We rented a Hyundai Elantra from Budget at the DFW Airport in Texas and put 550 miles on it during our little jaunt and only put about $24 gas in it (even though it was not quite full when we picked it up - we noticed later). The cost for the 2-day rental was $82 with unlimited mileage. Highway 75 from Dallas to McAlester is a 4-lane road but it...

  • Fly into and/or drive.

A car really is a must in oklahoma. Public transportation is limited to mostly large cities in most of the United States.Within OKC you can take a city bus or taxi.. thats about it! I would suggest you rent a car because the taxi's are expensive Within downtown there is a trolley which is very cheap (about .25) but everything is already within...

  • Your own car would be best....

Your own car would be best. There's Westheimer airport in Norman, it's for small planes. In the city there is Will Rogers World Airport. Now there is Amtrak too. I'm not quite sure if it stops in Norman, but it does stop in the city. Greyhound is also a way to get here.Your own car the best... rent one or something
