    Oklahoma City Warnings and Dangers

Bricktown is the best Oklahoma City has to offer but beware of aggressive panhandlers day & night. My daughter and I used to go for lunch quite a bit but we were harassed too many times. We've been followed and yelled at. I suggest going with a group and staying aware.

If you get off the interstate and drive on any rural roads, watch for farm animals! Sometimes they are kept in by cattle guards only and not fences. We also saw antelopes on the side of the road, and deer, in the middle of the day.

  • TORNADO

Oklahoma is known for it's TORNADOS, but I have lived here all my life and never actually seen one. I have seen the devastation afterwards, but never actually seen any except on the news. There are venomous snakes, stinging insects including scorpions, thunderstorms which bring lightning, floods, high winds and tornadoes. Did I mention hail? Many residents are xenophobic, and black travelers need to stick to main roads unless brave. Also cropping up are clouds of dusts and grasshoppers. Consider any smaller town a speed trap.
