Alex is a tooth gap, with heavy black frame glasses, and hat sort of guy who runs a good crew of handsome and capable waiters and waitresses in a popular local hangout. The building is right between Calle Guanajuato and Lithia Plaza, with second story views of each. The balcony on the plaza side is a great place to view the annual 4th of July parade, while drinking a beer of course. The upstairs bar is old wood and everything about the woodframe structure is half polished and original architecturally. Inside there's overstuffed furniture and a fireplace. In back, a balconey overlooks Calle Guanajuato and Ashland Creek. The restaurant service at night inside provides a healthy eclectic mix menu familiar to those living on the west coast of the USA.
Traditional night spot of the American Band College, and official bassoon fingering study/rehearsal room for the Death Avengers Drum & Bugle Corps. Very smoky atmosphere.
Dress Code: Informal. Whatever you wear will smell of smoke for the next few days, so choose wisely.
Tony Award winning regional repertory theatre. Their season runs from February through October, featuring everything from Shakespeare to world premiere modern plays.
Dress Code: Almost anything goes. I've seen people show up in formal attire or Elizabethan costumes, but mostly people dress very casually, as they do for all other Ashland activities.
