La Fiesta is located in an old main street building on the west end of the main drag. It's hard to miss. The building is on a hillside, so the balcony is easier to access on the backside. The restaurant has extensive inside and outside seating, and the chef really knows how to cook good Mexican food. This is a Mexican family restaurant tailored to the upscale needs of the tourists coming into Jacksonville. See the website for more details. There is plenty of room, so no reservations are required.

An Ice Cream Cone in Jacksonville, OR

For ice cream lovers this is a must stop place. The frozen confections are fresh made daily and presented not in cardboard cartoons, but as whimpsical shapes within stainless steel trays. Naturally, chocolate and white chocolate are there, but so are mango, strawberry, watermelon, and other fresh fruit flavors. You can't miss this place as it's right in the center of town.
