Newton Drury Parkway
dustmon Says:
This is another scenic alternate to Hiway 101 just south of Klamath.(coming out a few miles from Orick) We took it and saw Big Tree Wayside, a really big tree and only about 2 minutes from the parking lot. Other wonderful trees to be seen all along the road.
Crater Lake National Park
AussieKitten Says:
7th largest and deepest lake in the world within the remains of an ancient volcano. Spectacular scenery and great hiking trails.
Decoration on facade - Williams Building

I've seen pictures of this facade elsewhere on the internet, it has something that makes it stand out from the rest of the buildings in Klamath Falls. Guess it's the skull ...

Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT)Visiting the dorms and meeting friends studying there on a regular basis while staying in the area, has meant that OIT has become a familiar ground. Therefore I added this photo of a snow covered OIT.

Bailey's Dinning & Lounge: Great Sandwiches!
rsleisk Says:
Bailey's is located upstairs at the Klamath Falls Airport. The restaurant offers a great view of the surrounding mountains. I had the Pastrami Meltdown, good sandwhich and fries. Service was good and the food was inexpensive!

Sergio's Mexican Restaurant: Oregon Mexican Food!
rsleisk Says:
I was pleasantly surprised with the tastiness of the Oregon Mexican food I had at Sergio's. Coming from San Antonio, Texas, I was skeptical at first but it was good. It tasted like the Tex-Mex from home.
Great Enchiladas!

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar: The food chain...
rsleisk Says:
Applebee's is the only recognizable chain store restaurant I saw in Klamath Falls. It is a new restaurant in the newer, upscale part of town near the local technical university. The food was good, pretty standard fair. Try the local microbrews.
Taco Bell: I'm A Creature Of Habit
mcpangie Says:
The only time I've eaten at a Taco Bell in the last five years is when I pass through Klamath Falls, Oregon. This does not mean that I don't like Taco Bell. It only means that I don't eat much fast food. But, every time I eat there, the people are so friendly.

Aftershock Sports Bar: Sport's Bar
rsleisk Says:
Aftershock is part of the Epi-Center Bowling alley. The place is rather large with many TV's and it doesn't get too smokey. I had a good Heffeweizen and chicken fingers. We watched the Spurs defeat Detroit and enjoyed their beer selection, food and service.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Always! Bring warm clothes because it gets cold at night. Bring mosquito repellant and nets if you are not in a tent to protect yourself from them.
Miscellaneous: If you dont like the waether here, wait a minute it will change! I have seen it go from a warm breezy sunny day to snowing and then to rain and back to sun within 3 hours!

Favorite thing: Moor Park is a delightfull well groom park with walking paths and wild life, with a great view of Klamath Lake.
There are many art galaries with great artist. Crater Lake is an especially desireable area for new comers with walking paths and boat rides in the crater. There is a small company that has jet boat rides in Klamth Lake. The people are friendly and helpfull with many good hotels and eating establishes.
Fondest memory: CLEAN AND SPARKLING atmosphere. The air is fresh and smells of pine. Winters are mild and summers are warm and usually dry.
Sergio's Dos is a missed restaurant with great mexican food and on site home made tortillas.
The wildlife in abundant, nature reserves are many and you get a fine choice of bird watching or relaxing in that shady place fishing the many fine lakes and streams.
There is alot of new growth here and there is an extreme between the incoming retirees with their big money and the low cost of living here.
