    Though you may not see a whole lot of driftwood in this picture, there are places along the coast where wood collects due to the currents and tides. Do not stand on logs in the ocean. People have been killed by logs: when a wave comes along and overturns a log someone is standing on, that person becomes trapped underneath the log and drowns. It has happened before.

    Tsunami's have also hit the Oregon Coast. The worst was in 1964, after the 9. whatever earthquake in Alaska.
