Henry's Tavern: A tribute to ol Henry

Located in the old Henry Weinhards brewery we ended up eating here for New Years Eve '04 and had a great dinner. The restaurant is enormous, at 14,500 sq. ft. and is extremely comfortable, with a great staff. Their list of beers is incredible and don't miss out on the martini's.

Favorite Dish: They have an amazing selection of foods including basic burgers and sandwiches, pizza, pasta and thai/chinese dishes.

Kells Irish Restaurant &Pub: Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub

    by goshawk301 Written Jan 31, 2004

Kells occupies a beautiful historical building with a lovely facade, and is divided into two sections. On the right is a spacious public room with a ceiling festooned with folded dollar bills (I understand it's a good luck thing to throw the bill and get it stick to the ceiling; the money is periodically donated to charity). On the left is a cozy dining room.

During Happy Hour from 4 to 7, selected items from the pub menu is available for $3 with $2 minimum drink purchase, and these include fairly substantial fare like burgers and fries and chicken curry over chips (this sounds weird, but it was quite good!). A great deal for cheap dinner and beer.

Favorite Dish: Again, chicken curry and chips sounds strange but it was quite satisfying and went well with beer!

    McMenamins: Microbreweries with Great Food!

by rmdw Written Jan 13, 2004

McMenamins is a chain of microbreweries that offer a wide selection of different beers and some great tasting basic food offerings too.

It's a comfortable place to go for dinner or after a sporting event.

They have locations throughout Oregon and Washington.

  • The Rose & Raindrop: Great food, best beer selection 19th century space

by VirtualTom Written Oct 4, 2003

Housed in a late 19th century building once build as the finest mortuary on the west coast. The seafood is very well priced, as iseverything else. The bar can get a little smokey on busy nights but the dining room is non-smoking. Banquet space for 6 - 40. The best 37 tap beer selection around (unless you insist on European beer. Good wine selection. Service is a little casual but always profesional.

Favorite Dish: The crawfish cakes are amazing. Light and spicey. Served with a red pepper remoulade. You can also get it stuffed in halibut (amazing!). You expect this food for 3 to 6 dollars more a plate.

Saylors Old Country Kitchen: Great Steak

by CrystalMJones Updated Aug 6, 2003

The bar at Saylors is as great as it gets, Fireplace, great leather chairs, nice surroundings. The restaurant is nice too very friendly people. I have taken my young children there with no problems, very nice.

Favorite Dish: Steak, it is so juicy and tender, my mouth waters just thinking about it. There is no way that you could leave this place without being full. With your dinner you get fresh baked bread, vegi tray, soup or salad, your meal, and also some serbert for about $15.00 it is well worth it.
