We had breakfast at Johnny’s because it was just across the street from the hotel. I am typically not a large breakfast eater and bagels are perfect. The small café was pretty busy since it was a festival weekend, but the line went pretty quick. We each got a bagel with cream cheese and some juice – just enough and priced very reasonably. Everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied and would go back to Johnny’s for breakfast again.
We went here for dinner on the first night we were in Bethlehem (the next day we ate festival food most of the time). It was a fun atmosphere and the pub food was very good. The girls tried out their various martinis (so many choices) and the guys sampled the beers (again, lots of choices).
We were a large party and got a nice table without reservations and no waiting. The servers were friendly and quick with their service. I would definitely go back again.
The only really nice place I saw & tried in Bethlehem. They have an amazing Martini selection; a menu lists over 400 versions. The only bar I've ever seen where a rolodex details the way to make all 400+ versions.
I was very welcomed by the owner, Natalie, who has lived in town for over 8 years. She was very helpful since I had not had time to research any game-plan for my visit. She even drew me a map which made it very easy to see the major sites in a short amount of time.
Within 2 blocks of the Trans Bridge bus station so especially recommended before or after your travels.
Favorite Dish: Martini selection. Did not have the opportunity to try the food.
A very small, long & narrow (seats maybe 30) BYO restaurant-- it has 1 table for 4; 4 tables for 2, rest is sushi bar seating. Ya go for the fish! Everything is top-shelf, "Jay", the owner-master sushi chef will take good care of you. Try anything on the menu or ask him to surprise you...the lightly cooked sea bass is killer. Even the rice here stands out. Bring a bottle of junmai (cold) sake & enjoy! Call for hours of operation.
Dine in the restored Central Railroad of NJ passenger Station. Completely smoke free! We ate here on Valentines Day when they offered a special menu. They had a large selection of Veal, seafood, chicken and beef dishes.
Yes, contrary to expectations, I found a Belgian-style Waffle joint on the Main Street in downtown, historic Bethlehem. This is some kind of a franchise.
It is interesting that they not only put toppings ON the waffles but also have "mix ins" which are mixed INTO the waffle itself.
A very laid-back vibe, down the street from the 'Bethlehem Hotel' and near to the tourist info center.
Favorite Dish: Waffles, of course.
This popular eatery offers a fairly large menu with a good selection of their home brewed beer made on the premisses. You may encounter a wait during busy lunch or dinner hours.
Favorite Dish: I have been here a few times and have selected my dinner from the 'specials' menu each time. This is one of the few brewpubs that my wife enjoys going to.
