There is little or no night life in Carlisle (and if there were, I wouldn't know about it). Young people spend time in bars, or in malls. Parents drive their children to and from activities at all hours. There is no plaza, no sidewalk café, no outdoor games.
However, for my VT friends, here is a photo of me during the play we produced at the Retirement Community where I work. We raised $1,000 for a Nursing Scholarship on the night of the play, which has since snowballed into more than $10,000.
Six days after the night of the play, I was in Guatemala. Two different worlds, indeed.
ON a recent trip to downtown Carlisle, I stopped into the newest bar in town. My luck there was a hot band firing up the place and the place was jumping. They have live music there several times a week and the best part of all, IT IS SMOKE FREE!
