Easton Things to Do

  • Canal Boat Rides and Cruises

You can take a ride on the Lehigh Canal aboard the Josiah White and listen to the crew give you some historical background about he regional canals. They are in operation from the beginning of May till the end of September. They also have evening cruises on Saturdays which depart at 6PM. Then starting in October, they have the Fall Foliage Crusies...

  • Hugh Moore Park

A nice park on the Lehigh River and Canal. A great place to learn about Pennsylvania's canal heritage. This was Pennsylvania's attempt to build the great canal, like the Erie Canal. It was a failure. This park also offers nice picnic areas as well.

  • The Crayola Factory

Crayola Crayons world headquarters is located in Easton. This is not the actual factory. But it is a place built for the tourist. It is a nice place to take the kids.

The back dining area would be fine if you were dining with childrenThey offer a changing selection of beers on tap. The building was originally a YMCA and then later a night club. Check out the massive chandelier...

  • Best Dogs...EVER!

An institution, been around for decades...Hot Dogs & only Hot Dogs, Jimmy's has a cult following, and for good reason. Try one w/everything: raw, chopped onions, mustard, & a pickle wedge on a steamed soft bun. You gotta taste one to believe. Buy a box, they reheat well and/or go down fine cold. These are the White Castles of the hot dog world!

The square in Easton is the symbol of Easton. There is a nice statue here that commemorates its war heros. Squares are a typical feature in Pennsylvania towns.

  • bebop88's General Tip

View of South Side Easton looking across the Lehigh River. Mostly a residential neighborhood for low and mid income families.

  • bebop88's General Tip

View of Center Square Easton. This was the original site of the County Court House. Once a thriving town, Easton went through a period of decline in the 70s and 80s as many shopping centers and malls were built in the suburban areas, taking away business from the city, as happened to many towns in the US. It has somewhat resurrected itself with...
