Warner Theater, Erie
Located in downtown Erie at 811 State Street, the fabulous WARNER THEATER bears the name of the famous Warner Bros. who commissioned it to be built in 1929. The theater provides more than 2,250 seats. Designed by the famous Rapp & Rapp Company of Chicago, the theater opened its doors in 1931. Furnished and decorated in the Art Deco and French Renaissance style, this elegant theater is complemented by gold and silver leaf and gold-backed French mirrors.
The Warner Theater is home to Erie Philharmonic, Erie Civic Music Association, Lake Erie Ballet and Erie Broadway Series. It also hosts a wide range of lectures and entertainment shows.
Commonly rented for weddings, it was the site of my nephew's and his beautiful bride's wedding, in the ornate and wonderful Grand Lobby. It was sure a sight to see the bride come down the stairs hand-in-hand with her proud father.
Beautiful remodeled old style theater, they have shows all the time. Hell I saw George Clinton there, you know "We Want The Funk". The pic is from We Love Erie Days.
