The Jennie Wade House Museum and Gift Shop is a very quaint museum with a big story! This is the home where the only civilian was killed in the Battle of Gettysburg! Jennie Wade was at her sisters home when a stray bullet came through two tours and killed her instantly! The home is in the same condition it was in on that fateful day in 1863. There are still bullet holes in the tour and the furniture appears the same as well! This place is a must see!
The shopping in the gift shop is fantastic! You can find something for everyone in there!
There are also Ghost Tours at night there... Spooky!

Poor Jenny Wade. This 20 year old girl was baking bread for the soldiers in her house when Confederates were shooting during the battle of Gettysburg. It wasn't her lucky day at all, as one of the bullets entered the house and killed her in the kitchen. She earned some fame though, as much good as it did her, as the ONLY civilian killed in the Battle of Gettysburg. This museum is in her house where it all happened and is preserved from the Civil War era, architecture, furnishings and all.
Her monument/headstone is in the Evergreen Cemetery behind the National Cemetery.
The museum is open for tours and there is also a gift shop.
