The Elephant and Castle Motel has a restaurant and a bar of its own right next door.So of course, we had to sample the lunch fare. My wife had the Shepherds Pie (meat and potatoes) and I had the Castle Club (turkey club on wheat). Wash it down with a coffee and we just spent $25 for lunch. So of course, we only did that once. Food was delicious but...more
Don't be fooled by looks: the Blue Ribbon Tavern has fantastic food! It looks like a typical small town tavern, but the food and it's rotating specials makes this a place not to miss. The chefs come table-to-table to check on their customers and even take "requests." LOVE their wraps, cajun steak pasta and every burger. The food is just frankly...more
Grove City Shopping
as the ad says: "over 140 brand named outlets where customers realize 25%-65% savings over retail everyday"That's enough for my wife to drag me there for a day of browsing.Fall clothing sales with no tax seems to be the "prime" time to hit this outlet mall. But the stores have slashed prices every day on all items and even bigger savings if you...more
The Prime Outlet is a great place to go shopping! There are a wide variety of stores here. It is especially nice if you are shopping for clothing, because many of the stores are clothing stores, such as Banana Republic, GAP, American Eagle, etc. The prices at these stores are typical. Name brands can be expensive, but Vanity Fair is a clothing...more

Grove City Local Customs
Every October there is the Annual Grove City Fall Fest.
It is sort of combination craft show and yard sale with a farmers' market and school activites throw into the mix. There are local entertainment groups and a pet parade to add to the noise. Kids can have fun on a hay ride or painting a pumpkin. There are food booths for all to enjoy.
So if you are in the area in the first 10 days of October, (exact date changes each year) stop in to the Fall Festival and have some good old country fun.Related to:

Take a few minutes to drive around the campus of Grove City College. They have done a nice landscaping job on the grounds and some of the architecture makes for an interesting photograph. If you are really lazy, you can stay in the car and shoot pics through the open window.
to get there:
I-79 to the Grove City exit, take route 208 (Center Street) east to Grove City.
connect to route 58 (Main Street) and go east a few blocks to the campus driveRelated to:

Take $5 and warm up with a bucket of balls on the driving range and practice green.
Stop in the pro shop for some extra balls and some info about how the course plays.
Then pull out another $30 and take a round of 18 holes in a new cart.
This is a relatively short course ranging from 5000 yards to 5800 yards. For 50 years, it has been well maintained and has mature trees on the periphery of average width, bermuda grass fairways that lead up to bent grass greens. The greens play fast and are often mounded which makes them tricky.
Water is a hazard on two of the shorter holes and sandtraps proliferate the edges of the fairways with pot bunkers near several of the greens. Being accurate with shorter controlled shots is the key to getting a good score here. Overpowering the shot and ending in the long rough is a sure way to add several strokes to your tally.Related to:
