    Hershey's Kissing Tower

    by Cielo_Algaeed Updated Oct 2, 2007

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Hershey's Kissing Tower is the tallest structure which you can find in Hershey Park. It has a huge sign stating their 100 yrs of celebration.
This is a slow phase, smooth moving tower ride wherein you can have a 360 degree view of the whole Hershey Park. It goes up slowly and goes down smoothly without having any feeling of discomfort. So, to those who are not much into wild rides this activity is for you.

    The Butterfly House

    by PA2AKgirl Written Jul 1, 2004

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is definitely the most incredible part of the Hershey Gardens and thus deserving of its own tip. Open from June through September, the butterfly house allows you to see every part of the life cycle of these little guys. The structure is like that of a greenhouse, with mesh screen walls. Of the about 30 butterflies housed here, half are indigenous to Pennsylvania...

It's really a great experience--you walk in and these butterflies are everywhere! You have to watch where you step, they hang out on the walkways and sometimes, they even land on you:)) When I was there, I watched about 10 butterflies fly for the first time.

Roller coasters, musical shows, water rides, boardwalk, fine dining, entertainment and chocolates! What more could you asked for? it's all in one. Honestly, it was one fun trip we had. Although i would suggest that 2 days to 3 days should be spent to better explore the place.

$45.95 incl of tax ~ One Day Pass

    Note:
Please visit their official website for more informations regarding tickets, directions, park hours, map etc.

    by littlesam1 Written Aug 4, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is not Disney World. You will not meet Mickey Mouse. This is not Paramounts Kings Dominion. You will not see Scooby Do. This is Hershey Park. You will meet walking chocolate bars. You will see Giant inflated Hershey Kiss characters. And then you will find yourself hungry for another piece of chocolate. All part of the fun of Hershey Park.

    Make a new friend

by VeronicaG Updated Jan 27, 2007

Cuddily characters parade through the park just hoping for that photographic opportunity with YOU! There's no shortage of these Hershey related creatures--a crowd usually forms around them so they are easy to spy. Of course, looking like a candy bar would draw a crowd--especially those individuals with chocolate coursing through their veins. Like me, for instance.

    Size Is Everything!!

by VeronicaG Updated Jan 27, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Hershey Park rates all of their rides according to the size of the enthusiast for safety reasons,so they employ a unique way to do so...by using candy as their indicators---the rating system goes as follows:

Jolly Ranchers--to ride you must be over 60" tall
    Twizzlers--54"-60"
    Hersheys Bar--48"-54"
    Reeses Peanut Butter Cups--42"-48"
    Hershey Kisses--36"-42"
    Hershey Miniatures--under 36"

Since size is the indicator and not age, a tall child can ride accordingly.

    HersheyPark

    by PA2AKgirl Written Jul 1, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

To be honest, I haven't been here for a few years. We have an amusement park closer to my house that I like better because there aren't as many people and it's cheaper. However, HersheyPark is, without a doubt, one of the best amusement parks in the US (that's not a chain)
They have quite a few different types of rollercoasters--inverted, watercoasters, wooden and dueling racers (the 1st in the US). The Wildcat, a wooden rollercoaster (not that uncommon in PA) was named the best rollercoaster in the WORLD by "popular mechanics" magazine. I remember just the old school ones: the comet and the sooper dooper looper. (I may have spelled that completely wrong) Both were great for their time, too! Now they have 10 roller coasters.

Every year, they unveil some crazy new ride--this year it's the storm runner that "goes from 0-72 miles per hour in 2 seconds while taking you straight up 18 floors and then straight down...this is another rollercoaster.

Additionally, they have all the great normal rides, too-- like the swings (I LOVE the swings, LOL, but I also love the rollercoasters.). I forget how many rides they have all together, but the park is HUGE.

    Try out more rides!

by VeronicaG Updated Jan 27, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Be sure NOT to get on a ride that spins after you eat...or else! This is the type of ride I avoid. I have learned through experience that I cannot ride these...before or after I eat. The grandkids have iron clad stomachs--lucky for them!
