The Carnegie Music Hall is housed in the massive Beaux-Arts Carnegie Institute and Library complex, along with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Museum of Art.
The 2,000-seat theater is the premier location in Pittsburgh for classical, jazz, and brass-band concerts. It is home to the Carnegie Performing Arts program featuring jazz and classical concerts, the Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society, the Mendelssohn Choir, the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, and the River City Brass Band.
Located on Pittsburgh's North Shore, Rivers Casino opened in 2009. It features 3,000 slot machines and more than 100 table games, the most popular of which are craps, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat, to name but a few. In addition, the 3,457-square-foot (321-square-meter) Poker Room offers several types of poker on 30 tables.
Guests have a choice of dining options in the casino's four restaurants: the Grand View Buffet, Ciao, the West End Cafe, and Andrew's Steak & Seafood. There are also four bars which include the Spiral Bar, the Drum Bar, Levels, and the Wheelhouse.
For those who are not interested in gambling, or who have lost their money, other entertainment options include a nightclub and a 1,000-seat outdoor amphitheater which has live entertainment.
There is very little to do in Hershey at night. However, my favorite "night" spot in Hershey is the Iberian Lounge in the Hershey hotel. It is a cozy spot. Try a Chocolate Martini; you are in Hershey after all. The crowd is a little bit on the older side, but I love watching the couples on the dance floor. It reminds you of a simpler time and makes you hopeful that there is true love after all.
From the website: "With its grand fireplace, traditional bar, hardwood decor and paintings of Moorish port-of-call, the IBERIAN LOUNGE is the perfect setting to sample one of our signature chocolate martinis while enjoying pleasant conversation or live entertainment"
Dress Code: Suit and tie are not required in the Lounge, however, if you plan to have dinner at the Circular Dining room before hitting the lounge, they are!
There is a small bar attached to the eating part of West's and a full bar in a building behind the main area. I opted to stay at the small bar next to the eating area. Had two good rum and cokes and I really liked the waitress. Cute and lots of personality.
Dress Code: None I noticed. Casual attire and ballcaps seemed the norm.
Stopped in the Gingerbread Man while traveling with my sister and a friend. They had happy hour from like 6-9pm, and all draft beer and well drinks were half off. Fresh delicious Yungling products on draft too.
I also ate here on another trip, had a roast beef sandwich...it was delicious.

We drank beers at the film festival while watching THE STILL LIFE with legendary actress, Terry Moore, formerly known for her starring role opposite a giant monkey in MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. It was a memorable night at the The Roadhouse: a festival volunteer espousing, 'She's too drunk to get out of the limo...', the people who felt the need to converse WITH the movie as it played, and, of course, the cat-like woman who crawled into the seat next to me, squeezed my inner thigh, and asked, 'Are you Dan?'
Somehow the guys and I met in the coffeehouse in the back of the theatre, bought a round of Stellas, and slipped out into the alley to laugh and drink. We wandered on downtown and had ourselves some sodas.
Dress Code: Casual.
Very, very, casual.
One of my favorite things is watching the Perseid meteor shower in mid August from the the perfect light pollution free setting of Northern PA. From our campsite there are no other sounds other than the ones we or nature make. We sit back in our camping chairs with a blanket and a drink and just watch the perfect sky. It's a beautiful way to spend an evening!
Staying up for sunrise is also a treat!
Dress Code: Dress warmly, it gets cold even in the middle of August
There are 4 floors and a deck outside. There is a restraunt in the bottom floor, the next floor is where all the great local bands play(some famous ones too), next is the balcony where you can relax on chairs and couches, then the next is the dance club with great lighting and great music! Its a fun place to go and hang out!!
Dress Code: Depends what you like to wear, you can go in jeans and a t-shirt or dress clothes, nothing too slinky or they will toss you out.
I KNOW this is not the kind of 'nightlife' you are interested in, but this is all I have for the moment. It is the view from the parking lot of our hotel looking into Uniontown PA!! well, ...at least the kids will appreciate the McDonald's sign..lol.
I don't want to say that Bill's apartment a real nightlife spot is, but we really enjoyed ourselves overthere!
