    Franklin.. also a Mint

Favorite thing: One must absolutely pay homage to this great man (although he was born in Boston!). Ben Franklin began many new institutions in the colonies..first library, first fire company and the University of Pennsylvania.

Favorite thing: Remember your friends :)

Buy some postcards & head towards the B. FREE FRANKLIN POST OFFICE & MUSEUM at 316 Market Street. This is just a short walk from Franklin Court. In return, you'd get a unique cancelation like Postmaster Benjamin Franklin's! & your friends will be ecstatic!

The Postal Museum is on the 2nd floor & features displays of postal history, domestic & foreign postage stamps & other postal memorabilia.

Trivia: Noticed the 'Free' in between B. Franklin's name? It was assumed by most that Franklin was making a patriotic reference to the American struggle for freedom.

    UNDERGROUND MUSEUM at FRANKLIN COURT

by Sharrie Written Feb 25, 2003 6309 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Be curious about Benjamin Franklin & visit the UNDERGROUND MUSEUM at FRANKLIN COURT. Portraits, inventions, & exhibits about his contributions to printing, politics & science are displayed here. Very interesting :)

Also, check out a film lasting about 20 minutes on his life & accomplishment by Discovery Channel titled 'The Real Ben Franklin'.

    Show Time: 10.15, 11.00, 11.45, 12.30, 1.15, 2.00, 2.45, 3.30, 4.15, 5.00.

Fondest memory: Pictured here is a room within the underground museum where one gets to call famous people in the world. I had my connection with Ralph Waldo Emerson! Cool, isn't it?!

    FRANKLIN COURT

by Sharrie Written Feb 25, 2003 6309 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Head north (1 block from Carpenters' Hall) to FRANKLIN COURT. This is the only house B. Franklin owned although he lived in Boston, London & Paris as well. From this site, a 'ghost structure' was set up to visualize his mansion.

To read more about about his legends, please proceed to http://www.nps.gov/inde/Franklin_Court/Pages/index.html.
