    Amish Country

When we were looking for things to do in Philly, we stumbled upon some guided "Amish Country Tours". Figuring this would be as good a chance as any to see what the Amish are all about, we took the tour and came out of there having seen, heard and (especially) tasted a lot!

Seldom has the cliché "You have to see it to believe it" applied so well. It is one thing to see how the Amish live on TV or in books, but seeing them with your own eyes is quite an experience. We passed a number of horse-pulled buggies during our ride in Lancaster County as well as Amish chidren riding their scooters (bikes aren't allowed).

I feel it is something everyone should see once in their lifetime.

Lancaster county would be one place you don't want to miss if your in philadelphia. It will take you a avrage of 1 hour and 45 min. to get there from the city, but is well worth the car ride. Here you can see the Amish, go to our outlet stores, or sample the dutch country cooking...ummmm, and many other neet things

Visit The Amish Village At Lancaster County

Nice Amish enclave west of Philadelphia. A breather from city life although two popular outlet malls are there. Nice place to relax and shop at the same time. :-)
