Ariana is an unusual restaurant, specializing in cuisine from Afghanistan and other nearby countries. The atmosphere is unpretentious and friendly but nice enough for a date or special dinner. A good adventurous eat!
Ariana is a great place located right in the heart of Old City. The owner Kadir is a really nice guy who seems to be fond of my sister's baby so he always gives us good service. There is a table in the front that is raised off the floor and decorated in traditional Afghan style with rugs and pillows (see photo). I think this is the best way to enjoy your meal.
Favorite Dish: The fish kabob is really good, but there is a pumpkin dish (I can't remember the name of it, but it's the only one with pumpkin) that is unbelievable! Also, try some of the soups and the traditional Afghanistan ice cream.
*The lunch menu is much cheaper than the dinner menu.
