After being the laughing stock of the National League for decades, after performing one of the most infamous collapses in baseball history (don't say '1964' to a Phillies fan), after winning fewer championships than the Chicago Cubs in their first 120 years; the Phillies are now HOT. If you are in town at the same time they are hosting another team, a visit to Citizens Bank Park is HIGHLY recommended. Here's some advice.
1) Buy your tickets in advance. In September of 2011, the Phillies achieved 200 consecutive sell-outs, and there is no end in sight for this streak.
2) All seats are good in the sense that you won't be obstructed. Pick a location based on your budget, then kick back and enjoy the ambiance.
3) Ride the Broad Street Subway (aka the Orange Line) south to Pattison Station (now known as AT&T Station) to get to the stadium. You'll save time, money, and aggravation by doing so. Sure, parking at the stadium is AVAILABLE, but it's not cheap. And the only thing worse than the traffic while getting there is the traffic as you leave.
4) Enjoy the game AND the entertainment. In particular, the antics of the Phanatic can be as fun to watch as any game.
5) Don't taunt Phillie fans if you wear items of the opposing team. Yes, the guy who throws beer in your face will be escorted out, but you'll still have beer on your clothes.

Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, holds about 44,000 spectators. The stadium was completed in 2004, and it lies next to The Wachovia Center and Lincoln Financial Field south of Philly near the airport. In 2009 tickets ranged from $16 to $60. The stadium has parking for 21,000 cars, so driving to the game should never be difficult. The giant scoreboard is the largest LED video display board in the National League.

If you take a trip to Citizens Bank Park make sure to stop by Bull's BBQ and meet Greg "The Bull" Luzinski. You can buy a photo or baseball to get autographed. We had him sign our ticket stub for free.
Luzinski played for the Phillies from 1970-1980. His best season was 1977 when he batted .309 with 39 homeruns and 130 rbi's.

The Philadelphia Phillies play at brand new CItizens Bank Park. This new stadium replaces the old Veterans Stadium. The Phillies are a member of the National League.
Phillies games are an enjoyable experience. The fans are great and some of the most vocal fans in baseball. This is a great way to spend a few hours.
I didn't get a chance to see the new ballpark because it was still being built, but I hear it is a great place to watch a game. Good tickets should be available at the gate, depending on who the Phillies play that day. Prices range from $15 - $40. Parking is $10

Yeah, there's great dining, art and culture in Philadelphia, but there's no doubt that this is one of America's premiere blue-collar sports towns.
In a typical American city these days, it's tough to go to a major professional sports event without being surrounded by stuffy, elitist snobs who paid $200 for their seat. Well, in Philly you'll still find some of this, but much less than is other cities. The 2004 NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Carolina Panthers was played here and I can attest that the fans here will have no problem pouring their beer all over you if you choose to wear a jersey of the opposing team.
In a twisted way, I love that. Just beware if you're not rooting for the home team. Don't be obnoxious or you're likely to get a beating!
