 | Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Reviews | 1 - 8 of 8 | | Yeah, there's great dining, art and culture in Philadelphia, but there's no doubt that this is one of America's premiere blue-collar sports towns. In a typical American city these days, it's tough to go to a major professional sports event without being surrounded by stuffy, elitist snobs who paid $200 for their seat. Well, in Philly you'll still find some of this, but much less than is other cities. The 2004 NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Carolina Panthers was played here and I can attest that the fans here will have no problem pouring their beer all over you if you choose to wear a jersey of the opposing team. In a twisted way, I love that. Just beware if you're not rooting for the home team. Don't be obnoxious or you're likely to get a beating! Leave a Comment Theme: Sports Watching

The Philadelphia Phillies play at brand new CItizens Bank Park. This new stadium replaces the old Veterans Stadium. The Phillies are a member of the National League. Phillies games are an enjoyable experience. The fans are great and some of the most vocal fans in baseball. This is a great way to spend a few hours. I didn't get a chance to see the new ballpark because it was still being built, but I hear it is a great place to watch a game. Good tickets should be available at the gate, depending on who the Phillies play that day. Prices range from $15 - $40. Parking is $10 Leave a Comment

If you take a trip to Citizens Bank Park make sure to stop by Bull's BBQ and meet Greg "The Bull" Luzinski. You can buy a photo or baseball to get autographed. We had him sign our ticket stub for free. Luzinski played for the Phillies from 1970-1980. His best season was 1977 when he batted .309 with 39 homeruns and 130 rbi's. The new Philadelphia Phillies stadium also boasts a stadium restaurant on the concourse level in left field in which you can watch the game as you eat. The food is mainly ballpark fare (burgers, wings etc) but the view is great for the game. The name recognizes the Phillies current and long time play by play man Harry Kalas TIP: Many people may recognize Harry's voice for much of the work he also does for the NFL (and the show recap's he does for HBO's Inside the NFL). A lot has been made of how downright awful it was to watch sporting events at Veteran's Stadium (not as bad as it was made out to be) but taking in Major League Baseball in the Phillies new Citizen's Bank Park is truely a significant leap. You are significantly closer to the action and there is so much more to see and do then ever before. If you pressed for time on your visit you can really see a game as well as sample some food from several uniquely Philadelphia institutions right inside the park. A cheesteak from Geno's or a hot roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone from Tony Luke's are as good as Philadelphia eating gets. Leave a Comment Theme: Sports Watching

Citizens Bank Park - just opened in 2004 is the new home for the Philadelphia Phillies. It is a great park to watch a baseball game, or if there is no game going on while you are there they do run tours through the stadium. Leave a Comment

Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, holds about 44,000 spectators. The stadium was completed in 2004, and it lies next to The Wachovia Center and Lincoln Financial Field south of Philly near the airport. In 2009 tickets ranged from $16 to $60. The stadium has parking for 21,000 cars, so driving to the game should never be difficult. The giant scoreboard is the largest LED video display board in the National League. Leave a Comment
