Love Statue, Philadelphia
A Philadelphia landmark, th LOVE statue is located in picturesque JFK plaza. In spring, the sunny park filled with flowers and the mist from the Ellen Phillips Samuel Memorial Fountain, it's a great place to relax. There are views behind the statue of the Art museum and behind of City Hall.
The statue was created in 1978 by Robert Indiana.
Love Park is a cute little square with a fountain, and the infamous Love Statue. Great picture-taking opportunity! Many Philly skateboarders (including Bam Margera, of Jackass and Viva La Bam fame) have skated here for years. However, the mayor of Philly has decided that skateboarders are no longer allowed to use this park to skate. Check the weblink below for the controversy.
The LOVE Statue is in the middle of a square with water fountains and a nice place to take a break in the Summer
I think there are only two in Philadelphia. One near City Hall shown in the picture and thanks to Libby she pointed out the other in the Univ. of Penn. campus.
Hey, we're tourists, aren't we. So this one image should be part of our collection we show to our aunt and uncle, not?
