Ooo! Ooo! Reading is not...
Ooo! Ooo! Reading is not without its culinary delights, either. You can either get fancy and visit the Kansas City Steakhouse and Tavern (where you can get a really good steak and a drink), or you can get down home and grill your own at Tailgaters Steakhouse. Nobody does breakfast (and stuffed french toast) like the Antique Airplane Restaurant at the Best Western Dutch Colony Inn and Suites, and if it's a good lunch you're after, get directions to take you to Isaac's in Wyomissing.
Favorite Dish: Kansas City Steakhouse: Just about everything!
Antique Airplane Restaurant: Can't go wrong with stuffed french toast and peach pancakes. If you're there for dinner, check out their specials. They won't disappoint.
Tailgaters: The sky's the limit! - For $14-16.95, you choose your steak (Delmonico, sirloin, NY strip, Cajun-seasoned), chicken or fish, throw it on the grill and go from there. Sweet potatoes and baked potatoes are part of the deal.
Isaac's: Everything on the menu!

West Reading Diner is a decent place to eat at and Pandarosa,Old Country Buffet all the chinese rest. Iggy's Rest. Maria's Rest and bar is basically the biggest pizza you can get in Reading. One slice is really 2 for only like $1.25 the taste is good enough for you to get full off of and other places downtown
Jumbo China Buffet: Darn Good for All-You-Can-Eat Asian
This is probably the best Asian buffet in Eastern PA; I've been to most of 'em. HUGE selection includes sushi/rolls; raw bar w/oysters & clams; dessert bar (least appealing); and maybe 40 hot entrees. All for under $10.- for lunch. This is not Mott St. NYC quality, but for what it is its very well done. Toss the sushi chef some green & he'll make special treats just for you. Also has a u-pick ingredients bar w/stir-fry "chef".

Panda Heaven: Cihna meets Japan
An interesting place, huge inside. Japanese fare incl. cocsistently good sushi/sashimi as well as hibachi tables. The Chinese menu is as comprehesive as about any US Chinese place. Nothing especially stands out, but the food & service are better-than-average. Full bar. Large dining room can get loud w/noisy kids, choose quieter, small tables near bar. Check the bill for mistakes.
Crab Barn: Avoid it!
My 1st 100% poor review. My wife & I began going here in the 1990's when it opened; since about 2007 its sinking fast. I wouldn't be surprised it it closes. One of a very few places we ever walked out of before ordering. Service? Well, that night there was none. The menu has degenerated from full-blown Maryland-style crab house to very few items w/mundane side options. Often out of menu items. The seafood we did have wasn't served hot, fish was mushy, sauces were a variety of colored cornstarch. And the prices are escalating! Truly, eat here at your own risk.
