Penn State has a great football tradition and one of the nicest stadiums in the country (and one of the toughest places to play if you are a visiting team). Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley seats over 108,000 people and the crowds are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. Yes, it gets LOUD in there whenever there is a big play. Hearing a packed house do the "We Are Penn State" chant gives you chills. The mascot is the Nittany Lion.

The program has fallen on tougher times recently, but is one of the best-supported teams in the country and will be a force when it is back on track. Legendary Coach Joe Paterno has been there over 50 years and has literally built the program on his own, but the majority of fans are ready to see him leave in order to get better recruits. Hopefully the situation will be resolved in a manner that is peaceful.

Equipment: Be prepared to wait in long lines to get in and out of the parking lots. Coming from the east and west, I-80 is the easiest way. Get off at exit 161 and follow the signs.

Dress according to the weather. It can get cold in the fall when the sun goes down.

A link to tickets can be found on the website below, along with better directions and much more info on Penn State football.

    American Football!!!
I am not a fan of this sport. However, i used it as easy to understnd metaphora when talking about
revolutions. Most of the revolutionary people should learn about american football. A completely different team for each situation: defense team, ofense team, the kickers, the cheer leaders, the informants, the masses.

Jo Pa is, I was told, the best technical director(coach) of American Football in the whole Galaxy( which,i do guess, should include US). He has leaded Penn State U, a team he has benn associated with for 49 years, to 300th victories and 19 Bowl Games.
This is real life, sir! 19 Bowl games! No virtual gold fish bowls here. A very real ocean of achievments.

Equipment: Bring your Nittany Lions T-shirts. Wear blue.
