The Restaurant at the Station: The name is the location
Restaurant/Bar is located in the old Tamaqua Railroad Station. There is also a small candy store and a larger gift shop in the station building. They kept alot of the original character of the old station. The adjoining railroad tracks are active so if you're lucky, a train will go by!
Favorite Dish: Fairly large menu with some daily specials. Friendly servers.

Tamaqua Diner: 24hr Scrapple Available Here
Located on Hwy 309, about two blocks south of Broad Street on Center Street, the Tamaqua Diner is a popular local feed stop in town. The ambience is old fashion diner style with a dining room layout that wanders from one building addition to another is a hapzard manner. I ordered breakfast, and wow! what a volume of food for the money. As I recall for $5.95, I had three pancakes, three eggs, hash brown potatoes, three slice of toasted rye bread, and a slice of scrapple. This was the first time I had eaten this Pennsylvania Dutch meat called scrapple. It's a high fat organ meat concoction that's sort of like a hot dog without the skin. The flavor is certainly rich in organ meat flavor, so it's only for the most adventuresome consumer. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of the food.
