Waynesburg is a small town with just over 4000 residents, and is the county seat of Greene County. The town has a nice college with lots of old buildings and a long history. There is a lot of coal and natural gas here, which is a driving force in the economy. Greene County was named for Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene.

Waynesburg Off The Beaten Path

Check out Eagle One at the Green County Airport in Waynesburg. They will take you up in a vintage Piper Cub and show you around. It's a great group of layed-back folks who love to fly. It's on the Roy Furman Highway just one mile East of -79.
