The nightlife in Newport is upscale and laid-back. Along Thames Street, you'll find coffee shops, restaurants, live music venues, bars and even a comedy club. Maybe the best activity is to just stroll along the waterfront and check out the scene. You're bound to find some place that looks interesting. If the weather is favorable, the atmosphere will be great with plenty of people out enjoying the area. Bannister's Wharf (pictured here) is off of Thames Street and has a few restaurants and bars and a great coffee shop at the waterside end that has great big porch-style chairs for lounging.
